Join with us as we travel to power places that the average visitor never sees and enter the world of native healing and spirituality. Set your intent to connect with the Cosmos... with the spirits of the Pachamama... the mountains... the rivers... with the light of the stars... then bring these energies home to inform your everyday life. Hopi Spirit Keepers are invited guests accompanying us.
We will journey to ancient sacred sites of the Incas and Pre-Incas in and around Cusco and beyond. Along the way, we will enter into a relationship with the land and experience ceremony with the Q'ero Indians. We will traverse the highlands of the Andes and come to rest in Salk'a Wasi, Don Américo's 300 year old ancestral home, known as the House of Undomesticated Energy. There we will engage with the Mollamarka Indians and develop connections through works that open the heart, festivities and everyday village life.
Leaving the Cusco Region we will travel to the Altiplano of Peru, home of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world. Here in the Puno Region, indigenous to the Aymara people, are a number of sacred sites, natural and human-made, many known only to the native people who frequent them. We will visit some of them to discover what is resident there.

The mountain lion goes to a place... He does this in a position of correct relationship with Mother Earth... Pachamama... When you become the mountain lion... like a mountain lion you will move. It will be your ally. If you can incorporate the spirit of the eagle, you will have a way to project your spirit that will be just natural for you... I want you to understand that this is the work we are going to do... all our lives. It is a path that expresses the sensation of a mountain lion facing the world... and the childish joy that each one of us has inside...

Don Américo Yábar is an internationally recognized Peruvian mystic and poet. Initiated by the Q'ero as a young man, he is a chakaruna, or living bridge of feeling between cultures. A master in moving energy, he is particularly adept in guiding Western minds in opening their hearts to connect their filaments with the Cosmos. Don Américo and the Q'ero have been written about in Calling Our Spirits Home and Standing Stark by Carla Woody, Keepers of the Ancient Knowledge by Joan Parisi Wilcox as well as articles in Shaman's Drum and many other publications. |
Gayle Yábar has been walking the path of the nagual, a guide tracking salk'a, nearly his entire life. Through the transmission from his father, renowned Andean mystic Don Américo Yábar, and the circle of Q'ero elders, Gayle has the innate abilities of the puma and the full heart required to show others the ways of connection. In the past few years, he has been sponsored by private groups to such places as Costa Rica, Italy and the UK to work with youth. |

The Q'ero call themselves the children of Inkari, the first Inka. They live in isolation at 17,000 feet in the Andes, as they have for the hundreds of years after the conquistadors came, preserving the ancient mystical and shamanic traditions. They are the most untouched by Western culture of any indigenous peoples in the Americas. From them, we can learn about pachacuti, the stepping outside of time, and living in ayni, sacred reciprocity. |
